Coverage: "Hue Mural Festival" in Houston, Texas.
Earlier this month we were in Houston during the Hue Mural Festival and caught up with west coast based artist Risk, and Amsterdam based artists The London Police as they painted their murals and partied hard in the city. The festival brought artists together from all over the world into an area of downtown Houston that wasn't used to having murals. Lots of curious people came by to watch and check out the production of the murals as they were eager to see who came into their town to paint.
Sadly we departed before the end of the festival but check out the other murals we saw by Pez, Cope2, Maxx Moses, Studio FPLO, and Ana Maria.

The towering piece incorporates an aesthetic developed in his paper collage works, in which complex images are rendered in fragmented blocks of solid colour. The mural is painted on dividing line between the English and French sides of the city, and explores the theme of duality, the convergence of different cultures and their coexistence and the daily tension that exists within a region that historically has sought separation and independence.

Coverage: Cyrcle "Nothing Exists!" Solo Exhibition @ Montreal's Station16 Gallery
Yesterday, we stopped by Station16 Gallery in Montreal, Canada where our friends of Cyrcle recently opened their newest solo exhibition entitled "Nothing Exists!".
Nothing exists is a philosophical quandary, a statement comprised of absolute polarities, in which it’s meaning is inherently dependent on one’s perception. This composition presents us with the opportunity to think critically. Whether abstract or rational this contradiction confronts us with a perplexing challenge, testing both our beliefs and knowledge. Somewhere between something and nothing exists a space of uncertainty. This moment is immeasurable, yet more substantial than that which is tangible.
Nothing exists, it is waiting to be defined. Questioning this requires faith and fact. The more we understand that nothing is something, we realize nothing exists. See blind. Hear silence. Feel the truth.
The Los Angeles duo unveiled a brilliant body of work incorporating glow in the dark pieces on canvas, sculptures and installations. Don't miss it!
Hit the jump for a bunch of extra images and if you are in the area, the show will be running until July 4th at 3523 St Laurent in Montreal.
